What couples say about the work

We came into therapy unsure if our relationship could be saved. Six sessions later, we're communicating better than ever and feel genuinely hopeful about our future.

I didn't know if my partner would feel comfortable opening up, but Paula created such a safe space that we were able to address things we'd avoided for years.

The tools we've built together in therapy have strengthened not only our relationship, but our individual confidence and sense of self.

How do virtual couples therapy sessions work?

We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure privacy and effectiveness. Many couples find virtual sessions to be just as impactful as in-person therapy.

Who benefits from mixed-orientation couples therapy?

Couples where partners have differing sexual orientations can find understanding, respect, and strategies to navigate their relationship more harmoniously.

Do both partners have to be at the first session?

Yes. My approach begins with all three of us in the room — this is intentional. Starting together avoids any perception of bias from the beginning, and sets a foundation of fairness that the work builds on from there. After that initial joint session, I meet individually with each partner, and I also use the Gottman Relationship Checkup, a comprehensive assessment tool that surfaces deeper insights into your relationship dynamics much earlier than traditional approaches allow.

Is couples therapy helpful for nontraditional relationships?

Absolutely. We welcome all relationship structures and focus on fostering communication, respect, and intimacy tailored to your specific needs.
